Each painting is oil on canvas, built in slow layers of light and shadow, in the tradition of the Baroque. Every animal carries a symbol, and a red thread runs through each scene.

Lettres de L'Atelier
A real letter, once a month
Each month I make a new drawing, write you a letter of about two pages, and send it by post, sealed in vellum with red wax.
You also receive an hand-signed A5 print of the drawing with a certificate of authenticity, so over time you build a small collection.
In the letters I tell you the stories behind the animals, the symbols in my paintings, and what happens in my studio before a painting is finished. The idea began on walks in the forest next to my village.

Every letter gives back: €1 from each letter goes to a different wildlife organisation every month, from a hedgehog rescue in the Netherlands to an orangutan sanctuary in Indonesia. I announce the organisation in the letter, and every quarter I share what was donated.
